Intel P4 2.8 Ghz CPU 512 Mb RAM 80 GB IDE Hard Drive Fully Managed 1000/month bandwidth Cpanels or DirectAdmin(opt) is the package i have. my questions begin here. how many members should that type of server be able to handle at 1 time? how many member should that type of server be bale to handle in 1 day? my site has about 1400 registered members we have had only 378 members in one day and only 180 or members at one time. and our site gets soooo slow. we are supposed to be on a dedicated box.. but me and my partners have concerns a reverse ip shows 40 other sites on our box. when i asked the provider he simply said you have root access to the box if you dont belive me check for your self. well. frankly im not that smart. and 2nd im a bit scared to do anythign with the server. anytime ( there have been 4 times) we even get close to phpmyadmin the site crashes and we have to run a restore from a back up. i asked about this the provider said we have reached our boxs max last night for no apparnt reason the site just shut down when i tried to run a restore i got this error Unable to execute your request Details Unable to restore database ftaview_vb33.sql to ftaview_vb33 : ERROR 1040 (08004): Too many connections Unable to restore database ftaview_wiki.sql to ftaview_wiki : ERROR 1040 (00000): Too many connections i really feel like either im to stipid to have a website or im gettign the shaft we pay 189$ a month for this box. and frankly only 1 month out of 8 have we felt like we were getting what we paid for. now we are a member supported site ( our members donate either from a raffle or just casue) to pay the bills and we are barley sqeeking allong finacianly we want and have recenlty gained the opportunity to grow more but we are holding off untill we know what is going on. in the fortay we are in if we sit stagnant to long we will loose that chance i hope this isnt long winded i just need help.. thanks for reading 'link ps knox i hope you see this.. it was your response to that other guy that made me sign up here. He gave me the info to log in there and check and i did so and Mclinkus did indeed send $50 to Xstreamist's account. BUT, a new wrinkle pops up. Xstreamist also stated that Mclinkus told him that a certain member here sent him $150 for the server. This member was Tup14 and Mclinkus claimed that this payment was the reason he kept unbanning Tup14 every time I banned him. Now, go to this thread, In this thread Mclinkus counts down the money needed for the server. When you count the donations he says were sent it equals $115. Now add that $115 to the $150 Mclinkus said Tup14 sent and it equals $265. Now the server bill is $175 per month. $265 minus $175 is $90. So the question here is this. Where is the other $90? I have unbanned Mclinkus so he can come in and let us all know where this money went. Let's hope he has a very good explanation. |

There was $38 outstanding that I paid myself through my own Paypal account. However. Mclinkus collected more money than was needed and was caught red handed scamming. He sent a PM to a member who will remain nameless for now, they know who they are and can reveal themselves if they wish. The PM said that the person sent $100 to Mclinkus but it was for this coming months server bill and for the alptop donations. Mclinkus lied to the person and said he already sent the money to me when in fact he hasn't sent a penny to me. The only question now is how many did he scam and how much did he scam them for. This is exactly why I posted in the thread he started for people to send the money via the donation link so that it went directly to Xstreamists account and could therefore be used for it;s rightful purpose. If you read the satscap thread about it, they have had very strong associations. I cannot beleive that LK never joined satscams.org. Yet in that whole saga LK's name does not appear at all. However there is Xextreamist who scammed a lot of money and this scammer is described as never writing in good English and always using profanity. Make me wonder, why out of the blue, LK is joining up with Ong tu and promoting MarketRealm. Will they be looking for donations to keep the server going? Will Ong tu publicise that he was charitable and donated so much and expect people to donate? Is McLinkus at MarketRealm too? Strange beds LK makes - with Ong tu, with McLinkus, with somebody who scammed using ftaprosupport. And all but LK are prominent in the fsfta saga. |
