Com port 5

Pegg Mcintosh New member Username: Pegg Post Number: 5 Registered: Aug-06	Posted on Sunday, September 10, 2006 - 21:37 GMT My laptop does not have a 9-pin communication port (it has 15 or 26 pins and a couple of usbs). I bought a USB to serial port cable to download the bin file into my receiver. With this cable, I have been assigned com 5. Neither BL nor toybox uploader has com 5 options. Any suggestions to download the bin file through usb to serial cable?

Jason Borne Silver Member Username: Hardrockstriker Post Number: 536 Registered: Apr-06	Posted on Monday, September 11, 2006 - 04:01 GMT You might be able to play around with the USB-to-serial adapter's driver to assign the device to something lower than COM5. Try unistalling the driver, manually install a COM port (say COM3), and then re-install the USB-to-serial driver. If that doesn't work, try going into the driver settings are re-assign its resources to a lower COM port. I've gotten most USB-to-serial drivers to work using the above methods.
