Why don't you look for it at your local flea market? I'm sure you frequent this often.

The CS7000PVR is yes, a receiver and a PVR. It is a very nice box with a few cool features, picture quality excellent and support not bad...

1. Recommended Device
- External USB Hard Disk Drive with high speed CF type memory card.
- Flash memory stick, some device may not work properly
- Format Type : FAT16/32 (System does not support NTFS and other file system)

Yes yo should be able to do future programming thru the guide with external memory.

"- Flash memory stick, some device may not work properly"

This maybe a memory stick problem. Some are so cheap they cause problems. USB external hardrive is the way to go. I always recommend to format hardrive before yo use on your receiver sometimes called initialize.

Yash Matharu : I am surprised that you are living in Brampton and asking these questions in this forum. A friend of mine bought one receiver last Saturday at the market closest to you, got answers to questions similar to all yours, and though I was available on the phone to him, he did not have to ask me any questions.

I believe in asking question in the forum. My vendor told me that I can record HD program thru CS7000 PVR (it is not a HD receiver) though can't seethru this receiver. Which doesn't make any sense.

No HD on this receiver
Maybe meant HD as Hard Drive
