Posted on Friday, July 22, 2011 - 21:35 GMT I have: -Samsung HDtv -Time Warner Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD Cable Box/DVR -Samsung Bluray/Sound Sytem -Toshiba DVD/VCR DVR620 Previously, the sound was going from the Cable Box to the Surround Sound with an optical audio output, but I undid that because when I record DVDs there is no sound. No I have the whole surround sound disconnected. According to my manual, I run A/V cords from the Cable Box to the DVD Burner, then out to the TV. I have tried many different sets of A/V cable, and nothing seems to work. I do not know what to do. I undid the HDMI that currently runs the Cable Box to the TV for normal viewing and tried to just use A/V cables to the TV to see how it would go, and I got no sound that way either. There seems to be some key issue that I am missing (that is probably obvious to the more tech savvy out there.) Please help! I am trying to record shows for my husband who is in Afghanistan so he can have a piece of home with him! |

Posted on Sunday, July 24, 2011 - 12:19 GMT Jen, How do you have everything hooked up now? I can't tell. Anyway, to get a recorded program that is on the cable box hard drive to the Toshiba, you need to connect composite video+audio (yellow+red+white) between the cable box and the Toshiba. go to http://us.toshiba.com/video-electronics/dvd-recorders/dvr620/ to see the connections on the back of the Toshiba read page 3 of http://www.cisco.com/web/consumer/support/userguides2/4003986.pdf
