VIZIO VF550M HD LCD purchased 2 years ago come this December. The warranty is history, and obviously not an issue here, as the TV works excellent other than HDMI 1 taking a dump recently, but I had 4 more to use.
The TV displays 3 darker arcs from left and right sides when an image in the white spectrum displays, and more pronounced when the picture displays a completely white image, as if between commercials, sky shots, bright lights, etc.
Is this the cathodes/side light lit, covered in crud, or something else? If so, can I take the front off to clean this myself? These marks appear to be inside the screen. There are 5 recessed, phillips head screw holes that appear to be just for that, but I need to know what to watch out for and what I will encounter in doing this
Go ahead and get technical, and don't be afraid to draw diagrams etc. presuming there is someone that can tell me what I need to know.
