Moving a 57" Hitachi TV - potential for damage?

I need to move my Hitachi 57SWX20B into my basement. Problem is I have a landing halfway with a 90 degree corner. If I can move this TV on its side (vs. as it sits) I can clear the corner. Am I at risk for damage to internal components? Would it be better to have a pro disassemble it for the move and if so any ideas on what it would cost? Of course I thought to by the new 57S500 (two peice), but have concerns on the less quality components I have read about on this board. Any idea what a 1 yr old 57SWX20B in perfect shape would sell for?

I would NOT turn the tv on its side...I think you are just asking for trouble doing that..However, it would NOT hurt to call the tech support of Hitachi and ask what they think...good luck
