In the current state of FTA testing, One would be wise not to invest a lot of money into new equipment at this point and time.

That being said it's hard to beat the VALUE in captive Works Boxes and 3rd party support.

If looking for under $100.00 the CW600S Premium is solid and the 600S REGULAR also shines if you can find it for around $ 60 - 70.00 US dollars. NOTE: these 2 boxes are due to be fazed out from production and distribution, BUT NOT from support.

The NEXT generation of BASIC boxes from CAptive Works is the 700 & 800 series. The cost difference between these 2 is only $ 10 -15.00, both allow updates thru USB (easier than updates thru RS232 cable) With the 800 allowing you to use a external Hard drive to store / Time shift video (Think TiVo)

Here are the specifications for the 800 (and this would be my current recomendation with the current state of testing)

Standard Features:
- MPEG-2 Digital and Fully DVB-S Compliant
- SCPC/MCPC Receivable from C/KU Band Satellite

Nfusion is a great receiver too and updates itself over the internet, and is never down...about $199 plus wireless for another $50, so about $250 ballpark...initial setup is a little harder than most and requires more reading and a little puter knowledge,.. but once setup, then set it and forget it...

It depends on what you want to spend. You got money to burn, nfusion, you don't look for something LK recommended. I have nfusion and viewsat ultra and love both of them.

Big difference in price.

Listen to LK, he won't do you wrong.
