VCR not recording - unsure of problem!

I have a brand new Vizio 26" LCD HDTV Model: VW26L(see here: and a Sony DVD/VHS combo Model: SLVD380P, also brand new (see here: 651771/ref=sr_1_16/601-6739196-5662553?ie=UTF8&index=target&rh=k%3Advd%2Fvcr&pag e=1).

I do not have a Cable provider, just regular broadcast channels. My rabbit-ear antenna is connected to the TV and I have an RCA cable connecting the TV and my DVD/VCR combo.

My issue deals with recording. My DVD/VCR combo does not have a tuner so I must record only what I am currently watching (from Line 1). Recording has worked before with this combo and a former TV. However, nothing seems to be recording on my blank VHS tape with the Vizio TV.

I've triple and quadruple checked connections and I can't seem to find any problems. I wondered if the fact that I must switch (using the "Source" button on my remote) from "Tuner" (which displays regular TV) to "Composite" (which displays the DVD/VCR blue screen) on the TV.

I'm all out of ideas as far as what might be the problem. I've tried both timer recording and regular (just pressing the record button) - I get nothing.

Any ideas on what the problem may be?? I'm stumped!! 651771/ref=sr_1_16/601-6739196-5662553?ie=UTF8&index=target&rh=k%3Advd%2Fvcr&pag e=1

Your composite connections on the Vizio are INPUTS not OUTPUTS.

According the spec sheet for the TV, the only output it has is headphone.

There is no way you can get a signal to your tunerless DVD recorder from this TV.
