Splitting FM and TV signal and matching impedances

I have a roof antenna that has the matching transformer at the antenna, so I have coax/75 ohm cable running down/into the house. Splitting the FM signal is no problem and the TV is already 75 ohms, but my stereo has a 75 ohm twin lead 'bare wire' connector on it. Question is the tv/fm amp splitter has a coax connector and my stereo has the bare wire connector (both being 75 ohms). Can I use a matching transformer here and cut off the the metal ends and just stick it into the stereos 75 ohm antenna jack? I know a matching transformer is for converting 300 to 75 but can I use it to convert the f barrel connector to my newer 'jukebox type' stereo's antenna jack, forgetting the whole impedance bit? The stereo came with one of those thin 'T' type antennas.
Thanks!
