About a week ago I bought a sony KDL-40S2000. The Tv works fine until
I tried to hook in up to the Comcast dvr model #dct3412. The problem I
am having is that I when I switch between an HD channel and a SD
channel the Tv goes blank. If I my TV off then on again it will show
the channel. I can switch between a HD channel to another HD channel
and it is fine but if I try to go to a SD channel the screen goes
blank. I am using a HDMI cord. I called sony and Comcast and both of
them don't know what to do and have never heard of this problem. I
tried component video cords it will work fine but I want to use the
HDMI cord because my component video slots are all full

I am on box number two from Comcast. And I had the problem with the
first box and now the second box.

Please Help

I am having the same exact problem with a Sony 40" LCD and Insight DVR cable box and a HMDI cable. The local Insight Cable company couldn't fix the problem. Does anyone have some suggestions?

In the settings of your cable box you should be able to change the input settings. Make it so that the input for hd is 1080i then change to a no HD channel and do the same thing. This is how I found to fix it.
