I have tried hooking up my dvd player(RCA) to my TV(JVC) using component cables and I get a good picture but no color. I've tried switching the cables around and tried to hook the same cables with my bro's TV and DVD player with the same results. I've tried Monster cables and some cheap Philips cables and both show only a black and white picture. Any suggestions?

There should be a setting in the menu of the DVD player to tell it you are using component video. It could also be a switch on the back of the unit.

There was no option in the DVD player menu for component video nor a switch on the unit itself, guess I'm outta luck on this one.
