The last thread covering the RCA DLP televisions was closed, but I have some interesting news so I would like to re-open the topic.

I received a call from the local RCA authorized repair facility and they informed me that the replacement set (#175)has arrived from the factory and, weather permitting, should be here by Friday.

RCA authorized this replacement two weeks ago as they did not have a bulb available for my 13 month old 61" set. Evidently, after two months of waiting this bulb may never arrive.

I am a happy fella, but I do wonder what is going to happen when more and more of these bulbs fail. DLP hasnt been out all that long and the bulbs are just starting to conk out. What happens when thousands and thousands of these sets sit blankly staring back at their owners for months on end.

Thanks and kudos to RCA for stepping up to the plate.

Last I saw it said it was closed so I assumed that it was going to be archived. Maybe they were working on it for some reason. Hence, new thread!
