I have a JVC HD-ILA that has a 720 res and my cable box has the option of 1080i output or 720p output, which one would give a theoretically better picture? I cant seem to make up my mind. Thanks Dave C
Your cable box will scale non 720P signals to 720P just like your set will. I doubt you will see any difference in quality. Most boxes have a selection for "All" or "Native", which allows all signal formats to be passed through the box for scaling by the set. That's how I have mine set up.
