I've read a number of forums on the issue of source quality and as it pertains to cable I am curious if excellent reception is because of fiber optic or a amplifier? My townhouse complex is about 20 yrs old, I just had cable installed, the signal strength is low and they tell me they will be back to open the street and run a new main line. The picture I'm getting is poor. Even HD isn't great. I still have Dish which works fine. For those of you getting a great signal are your lines new? Fiber Optic?
