Does it make any difference whether I buy a $10 Radio Shack cable tv signal booster or a Motorola I saw at Circuit City for $49. In other words do they all provide the same result.

For what purpose? If it to boost your cable signal you had better be sure it is a two-way amp otherwise you will lose much functionality from your cable box.

Post a link to each one and I'll be happy to tell you if either will work as well as another.

The CC amp will certainly work. The Motorola unit M61111 you linked to does have the necessary bandwidth however I searched carefully and cannot verify that it will indeed pass two way communication which is a must if hooked to your cable line.

Why do I need two way comm. for cable tv?
