Hi
I'm getting an Onkyo HT-S777 (receiver+dvd player) bundle, and would like to replace the rear surround speakers with ceiling speakers. Is there anything I should check before I do this. My ceiling speakers are JBL but not sure of the wattage, impedance etc?

Thanks

There you go, you just answered that question. Check first for impedance and wattage, see if you receiver can handle them.

Thanks for the reply. I found out the speakers are 150W, still have to figure out the impedance. I think the onkyo receiver puts out 130W per speaker, so I figure I should be ok.

Correction, I got the spec sheets for the JBL ceiling speakers and they are 100 W / 8 ohms. Now my question is how to configure the HR 520 receiver to put out only 100 W to the rear surrounds (as it puts out 130W) ? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Satish
