Using Toshiba speakers as center

I have a Toshiba 46H83 Rear Projection TV. I have an RCA connector on the back to use the TV's speakers as the center channel on my surround sound system. Beside it is a button to turn this feature on/off. I am using a Pioneer VSX-818V-K Receiver and it only has the ability for speaker wire outputs...meaning I need a positive and negative wire. I guess what I need to find out is if it is safe to use an RCA to speaker wire connector to run from the receiver to the TV....

No it's not. The center channel input on the Toshiba is built for line level signals, not speaker level signals. You would overload that input on the TV with a speaker level signal and cause damage to the TV.
