JVC TH-M65 HTIB with Sony STR-DE997

I have a Sony STR-DE997 receiver that I'd like to use with these speakers. However, the subwoofer appears to have a unique cable that will only connect to the JVC DVD/receiver. Does anyone know if it's possible to use these speakers and sub with the Sony receiver or do I need to find a receiver for the speakers? Thanks.

You can use the other speakers except for the subwoofer if it is passive, it is probably being powered by the JVC receiver internally. Unless the sony has its own subwoofer amplifier then I won't use it.
