I just got an HTR420, and i must say i am having a lot of trouble getting everthing to work right, im not sure what kind of cable i need, if i need any, to hook up my PS2?? and one more question, how do i get the speakers to turn on for just regular television?

Seems you are looking to buy the ht-r420 check for the following THD ( Total harmonic distortion) should not be greater then the value of 0.08% @ rated power . {Total harmonic distortion is the disturbance or we can say noise introduced by the decoder or the amplifier into our clean DVD signal.)Sony and others sell systems which have a rated value of 10% which is of cource too much.The lesser percentage indicates the quality of the amplifier circuitry.
just a little information for ya. Taken from Onkyo's site about the TXSR502. Power Output (8 ohm, 20 Hz-20 kHz, FTC): 75 Watts x 6 Channels.
8 ohm not 6.
