I have Provision speakers with an amplified subwoofer (no receiver required) and want to connect them to our Samsung dvd/vcr player that is dts ready. The dvd player has only a coaxial output but the speaker system has 6 plugs to go into a dvd player. Is there some kind of converter? Or is the speaker system designed for only a specific type of dvd player??

Do the speaker system have any digital inputs?
Have you checked the manual?

Berny - Thanks for the response. The speakers do not have an digital inputs and the manual is not very helpful. They do not have a website either. I checked at store today with another similar system, same issue. Maybe it's my dvd player? It only has the coaxial output.

Sorry to say, but you have been misled. The subwoofer may not need a receiver but the rest of the speakers will need to have receiver to be driven. the DVD player need to be connected to a receiver that can decode digital signals.
You need a receiver.
