LCD hooked up to computer and a vcr/dvd machine?

I'm relatively new to this, but I was just wondering if this was possible...
I want to buy a new lcd to use as a monitor for my computer and at the same time hook up a vcr/dvd combo machine to the lcd monitor as well so I can watch movies when I feel like it.... What would I need to do this? What specifications would I want to look for in a lcd monitor?
thanks!!

I guess maybe I should have posted in the computer section, but thanks for responding. So I need an lcd monitor with a tv tuner in it then, right? Would you happen to know what I would need in my computer for it to work with the monitor, like a special video card or something? thanks so much.

You could also use a monitor that has inputs for audio and video and not just your regular computer cable. Now if you want to use your computer as an entertainment center and accept tv signals you can get a video capture card. Look into what ATI has to offer.
