Purchased 2 Coby DVD-233's back in February that are now both dead as a doornail. No response from any button input that I can determine so far. Behaves as if main fuse is gone or is not plugged in at all.
I know you get what you pay for but THIS is REALLY ridiculous!!! I thought these could get me through until Blu-ray was affordable.

Any ideas as to the cause/repair??? I haven't cracked the case yet. I am just waiting to see if I can gather some addition info prior to surgery!

Those players are notorious for early deaths. You could probably get a decent player on Ebay for what those cost. I scored 2 JVC players back in '05 for $20 total. They both still work fine.
