Very good choices and excellent matching of receiver to speaker sound characteristics. Go for it.

Have you heard an upper onkyo model (800 and up)? I like their smooth non-fatiguing sound - quite upscale sound for the price. Won receiver of the year award for 1k unit at Secrets of HomeTheatre.

The Onkyo's have a nice sound but do not have the power reserves of the Marantz[and others]. Onkyo employs a protection curcuit that cuts power after 2 seconds or so in multichannel mode. This may not be a problem in most situations but since Marantz,Elite, H/K, NAD etc don't seem to have to do this I consider it a flaw in the amp section of the Onkyo. Yamaha also does the
same thing in their units. To me a well designed receiver should not have to cut power in this way.
