High or low level inputs for sub?

Anonymous
I have the Energy Encore speaker system and the Denon 2802 reciever. I am trying to decide whether to hook the sub up through the high level speaker connections or the low level sub out from the reciever. Energy recomends the low level input, but I have read of several people prefering the high level inputs.
Can anyone make a recomendation on which is better and why?

Thanks

check Polk Audio website-interesting connections.

(different anon) I looked at the Polk site when I was buying my sub. They definately recommend speaker level use a lot. I believe that is appropriate for the small satellites they sell. It allows you to have a crossover higher than the standard 80-100-120 Hz for satellites which can't produce higher SPL at frequencies above the receiver standard ie 150 Hz. If you have a good set of bookshelves or towers, then direct line level is the way to go.
