In my quest for the right speaker I have narrowed down my choice to the speakers I have mentioned based on the availibility in the Region (I live in UAE). I have a Yamaha RX-V620 and need speakers that would match it. Appreciate if you could rate these speakers, being a newbie I wouldnt know what to look for so will go by the points these score from your ratings.
I have saved some money which is lying in a envolope, appreciate if you could quickly give me reviews before my wife spends it all on her shopping.

I don't know the Kefs especially well, but it really comes down to how each of them sounds to your ears, so you should listen first. The JBL's are definitely a good match for your old Yamaha amp, they are 8 ohm, easy to drive, handle plenty of power, and have a good balanced sound for most applications. You should also consider what you'll be using them for...HT or music predominantly? I would always pick a speaker that is tonally accurate, i.e. sounds natural on music, over one that sounds big and impressive on HT alone.
I'm not a fan of the Bose, they are imo using old technology and are more specialists in the HTiB category these days, and couldnt' really be considered 'cutting edge' speaker builders.
Finally, if you like the 'English' sound (i.e. Kefs), be sure to check out the comparable B&W's, which many would rate as superior.
Good hunting

Hello,
I am facing similar predicament, I had a listen on JBL E80, against def tech studio monitor 350.
The JBLs sounded veiled. The monitors had a very open sound, fantastic for the size. The shop owner said the JBLs are yet to be broken in and secondly bi-wiring them would help.
I had a similar problem listening to Tannoy Mx3s, again fresh out of box, they again sounded very dull.
Anyone who can throw some light on JBLs performance ?
