Inexpensive Speakers (O.K. maybe cheap)

Garry S.
I have a Yamaha receiver (80W front, 80W center, 15W rear). I would like a good inexpensive surround sound speaker system. I read some good things about Cambridge Soundworks IV system. Also, some AR speakers systems. I'm also open to getting floor standing speakers. Any thoughts about BIC speakers? I want to keep the purchase to less than $200. I know I'll get what I pay for.

You could also look at KLH, I have a set of KLH M365T's and I love them, and at only $89(list $250), they are a super bargain IMO. I have them paired with a Kenwood VR-407 receiver, and they produce very full sound, perhaps a bit bright at times. I got them thru http://www.factoryclearancecenter.com/klh.html .

See http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=1051826204468&skuId=5331777&type=product&productCategoryId=cat03049. They are only $129.

Or purhaps these http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=1051826208513&skuId=5378851&type=product&productCategoryId=cat03049. They are $200 and actually have the upper bandwidth to play most DVDs, DVD-As and SACDs.

Your best bet is Merak MT66. I have purchaced 2 pairs for myself and for my father, sister and a couple of musician friends. They are THE best bargain on the market right now, period. They are a subdivision of Axiom Loudspeakers. They have been compared with speakers in the 600.00 to 1,000.00 range and are available for 249.00 a pair and if you are lucky like me to find a discount store who carries them, you will pay about 120.00 CND a pair !!!!!!!!!! You will find them at:
