Awesome Nuck! How many free brews did you score?

I remember when my daughter was born I stopped in my local pub (the same one we had our wedding reception) for a bite to eat. When I told the bar-keep the good news he not only bought me a beer, but dinner was on the house.

David:
You mention Orleans....Is that the town in very upstate Vermont?
I was there in '01 as a 'leaf peeper'. It was colder than I was used to, being from California for 2 decades. But, we got there in early October, staying down in Coventry at a B+B built in the mid 1800s.
Since we got there for the 1st snow of the season, wife thought I was nuts running around barefoot outside while it was still coming down.

Congrats, Nuck. Hope you lost count on the #of beers consumed. Good for you!

Come for a visit sometime! (not in the winter).

David:
I am simply not scared of the cold.
Does going barefoot in the snow qualify me in any way?
Wife wants to see 'the great white north' and though she is from....shall I say, warmer climes, she is game for it. Her operating temp? between 68 and about 78f. out of that range is cold or hot.

When we were in upstate Vermont in 2001 I felt great. The only thing that threw me were the street signs in French, up at the border.

Everything is in French up here too Leo.

We have Winterlude up here in Ottawa in February that's world famous (The Rideau Canal is a world heritage site and also in the Guinness book for the worlds longest skating rink).

It gets a bit cold, though... sometimes -40 with the windchill. Brrrrrr........

Nick:
-40c and f are the same. That's where the 2 scales cross. Is that what you meant?
Nuck:
You are a sick individual. I know I couldn't pass the 4:1 ratio physical.
Winterlude? Sounds like fun. I'll rent some skates and promise not to fall thru the ice. I still have my down parka......wonder if it still fits?
