Using mini plugs for the speakers connection to the amp

When using mini plugs for the speakers connection to the amp is it better to soldier the cable tips before conecting them to the plug or just connet the raw copper?
Is it better to tighten the screw real hard or just ebough to hold tyhe cable?
Thanks

Mini plugs? With speakers? What kind of speakers are you running here, computer speakers?

Mini plugs/jacks refer to 1/8 stereo connections(headphones, PC sound cards, etc) AFAIK. And it is NOT obvious, because there are many types of speaker connectors. Spades, Banana or quick-lock, and there are probably more. And as far as soldering them, I would assume that if you used high-quality solder and not too much heat(to prevent melting and possible damage of insulation/wire) that it would have better contact. With screw-on terminals, I would assume that you would want them tight, but not too tight, so that you have good contact with the terminal, and no crushing of the wire.
