Are they musically capable or are they suited for DVD only? They look awesome and I know I won't have the timbre problem mixing these with my Monitor Audio fronts when the time comes around.

Klipsch 8" subs are not as good as many others. Velodyne, Boston.. etc. (not sure about larger subs). At the low end they will distort way before other subs of comparable size if they're pushed.
