Dialogue Volume

Hi everyone,

Wondering if you guys can help, whenver I play a DVD the surround sound would come out great, everything clear as a bell but whenever the dialogue starts, I have to turn my volume up to hear what the characters are saying because the backgroup noise (i.e. lightning, rain, gun fire) is so loud it trumps out all the dialogue. I suspect this has to do with the way my speakers are set up but I'm not too sure. My set up is HK avr320, klipshc synergy for fronts, klipsch contract for surround and klipsch synergy sub and center channel. Any input would greatly be appreciated.

Cheers.

A lot of people hear this. First set your speakers levels with the receivers test tone and an SPL meter. Then, set the speaker distance to the right distances in the receivers setup.

If you still have that problem, turn tha center channel up 4db.
