I may not get anything modified now after trying this teflon tape tweak! I put teflon tape on my fuse and around both fuse holders holding the fuse. I also put it on my ac plug and speaker hook-ups inside of my receiver too. I'm enjoying the best of both worlds now!! I'm using teflon tape from Wal Mart.. it sounds better! I'm SHOCKED that nobody has tried this very cheap tweak yet!!

Randy- I just wrapped a whole roll of duct tape around my receiver. I then taped my arm to my neck. I walked up to my tv and spit on it. I then kicked my cat. I put on a blu-ray movie. It was Black Hawk down in uncompressed PCM audio. I stood in the middle of the room watching a scene, with my arm tied behind my head, taped up receiver and spit running down my tv. Best experience ever. Probably, by far, best upgrade. Im sending it in. I will be rich. Nuck -....Marc...I will be rich.

We all obviously find you awfully entertaining Randy, but hey - why don't you wrap your Mr Wiggly up in the Walmart duct tape and entertain someone else for a change. Now there's a tweak that might pay you real dividends. You'll have to tell us, of course.

Some friends of mine came over the other day and they were all amazed at how good my stereo system sounded now. They wanted to know what I did to it so I showed them. They are all now doing this tweak to their systems too. I think this teflon tweak is blocking some of the AC grunge from the very dirty AC power when you put the teflon on the ac plugs and around each fuse holder. IT WORKS LIKE A POWER CONDITIONOR SHOULD REALLY WORK!!

Randy,

Another great tweak for you to try to get your car stereo to sound more like tube gear - I found that if I drive with 2 old toilet paper rolls over my ears I get a real tube sound. And get this, I used 2 NEW rolls just today. Still loaded up with the squeezable Charmin...it sounded like brand new tubes. Very warm and transparent. Just like a telefunken U47. You'll love it.

I know some of you are safety minded...this'll blow your mind. If you're worried about that whole 10 and 2 business on the wheel (or is it 9 and 3 they recommend now??) try duct tape. Duct tape both rolls to your head. Randy, my buddy says this is the cheapest most effective tweak he's ever tried. You'll be amazed!

And the other motorists seem to like it too.

Should I be posting in the Car Stereo section?

You people are really missing out...some of these tweaks out here really do work, like the Dakiom 203 series feedback stabilizers!...Clever Little Clocks and their Phone tweak!..and this teflon tape tweak! Next I'm going to try three Blue Circle BC 86 MK3 LINE CONDITIONERS all together on the same outlet...I heard about these over on www.audiotweaks.com on their reviews site there at the top of the page.....

I found vast improvements using an ACE bandage.
Watch out for those metal clippy things, though, they hurt bad when you snag yourself.

I have determined this using extensive double blind testing techniques developed by the UFO crowd.

That's why the specific cord has also been in circulation for years.

ahhh man...Randy, most of us on this site have gear that we bought because we like the way it sounds, OUT OF THE BOX. No tweaks needed. It is all about the music like Stryvn said.

I'll say this much: every time I tried a tweak, it did next to nothing or it made the sound worse. The thing I've learned after screwing up a few times: don't tweak. If a designer could spend 2 bucks to make a 100% difference in sound, he or she would have.

PS: The number was 12.
