Has anyone done this? I have an acoustimass 20 speaker system without the head unit and would like to drive the system with the audio out from my computer.

I have a few questions.
1. How do you turn on the amplifier?
2. What are the pinouts for the bose cable (ie which pins are the audio in)?

you should call bose and ask them this. because if it is powered, you may very well be able to do this.

1-800-444-2673 is the Bose phone number if you are a US resident

I had the same question and got the ansvar from Bose that the system has signal sensing on the low-level input. That means that you just connect the PC to L&R on the AM 20 and your fine.

I was wanting to hook some speakers up to my computer and just ended up hooking it all straight into my home theater system. I just hooked the digital coaxial audio ouput to the input on my receiver. Then I hooked the S-video to my TV (pic quality is just fine). I'm very happy with this as the power of my home theater owns that of a cheap $200 computer speaker system.
