starting from scratch(including knowledge of stereos) I have been looking at the orb speakers but am close to decided on the jbl e100 towers(more in my price range and boy are they big!). I am mostly concerned with the music aspect of the sound, although it would be fun to hook up the dvd. I have a large house with 14 ft ceilings, and the acoustics in my " music" room are wonderful (even with my walmart rca POS)I listen to mostly jazz, blues, rockabilly, (anything old) and am craving to treat my extensive music collection with a bit of respect with a good pair of speakers! price range of $5 to 600.00, can be upped a bit if need be . The closest audio center is an hour away. If I do go with the jbl's, can I get away with a cheap receiver example: Sherwood rx4105 200 watt for a short while? Thank You!!
