I am thinking about buying a Marantz sr5500 receiver , but was gonna try and use my old 4 speakers from my old system (It will be a year or so before I can afford to buy surround speakers, subwoofer, etc...). I am just wondering if I can use my old speakers in the front and surround speaker jacks in the new Marantz. They do have an option for surround "back" speakers, but they can double as a multiroom system, which is what I want to do with those jacks. I also will NOT be using the "center" speaker jack.....

Any opinions on this? And please dont try to convince me just to go out and spend another $500 for specific surround speakers! Thanks for any and all help. I am a total newb to this. I have an old Marantz 2235 receiver/amp, but I really want the functionality of a remote, and front a/v inputs!
