OK- These are my opinions; The audio quality is for all practical purposes identical. The optical cable is a bit more fragile on the ends imparticular so be careful with those. Its more common to find optical than coaxial connections on devices because it is cheaper to build an optical port than a coaxial. But its nice to have both. Seems like I am forgeting one comment about coaxial. Oh well. Gettin old I suppose.
