I hate to bug you guys on such a fundamental question, but I just recently got a replacement cartridge for my PL990 Phonograph, and I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to install it.

There aren't any visible screws, and the thing doesn't want to come off when I pull (I'm too scared to use much pressure as I don't want to take the arm along with it).

If anyone has any experience with this model type, I'd appreciate your advice on the matter.

thanks folks,

there's just two ways I know that the headshell comes off of the arm. most headshells are mounted and secured by a threaded nut. it will always have knurls on it and be finger tight. there is usually an allignment grove so the headpiece fits only one way. undo the nut and the headpiece just comes right off.

the second is the headshell which is wedged onto the tonearn and locked in place with a little handle. push the handle back and the headshell slips right off. hope this helps.
