NAD 2140 and a NAD 7155 among them. I am looking to keep one to use only as an amp for my center (energy C-C3, 150 watts) to play at reference level. It is rumored that the 7155 is 55WPC, 150 bridged, and the 2140 is 40 WPC, and ??? bridged. I would completely disregard the tuner and preamp function of the 7155, and use it solely as an amp, pre would be my 1014. which should I use and why, or should I just use the 1014 to amp it. Buying an amp is not possible... poor college student syndrome. |

Silver Member Username: Stu_pittNYC, NY Post Number: 417 Registered: May-05 | Your best bet is to try all the different combinations. Even try the NAD's as mains amps. It probably will take a little while swapping stuff in and out, but that way you'll know which set up works best for you. I'd lean more towards the NAD's as front and center, but that's just me. While the crown may be louder (I think it's a dj amp), the NAD's will most likely play cleaner. And don't be put off by NAD's lower power ratings, they are notorious for under rating their power figures. Everyone's reference level and tastes for sound quality are different though. |
