I am moving into a new house and would like to have the stereo set from the begining right. i am on a very tight college budget so i am looking to spend about $300. i already have about 8 to 10 speakers i would like to hook up to one amp if possible. i was thinking about using a speaker selector box to accomplish this to save money on an amp if possible. im not sure how they work exactlly so im not sure what type or how much wattage of amp to use for this purpose. let me know if anyone has any insite on this. thanks

i would like to add that i want to have the speakers split between the open first floor and open basement.
