New member Username: HwoarangPost Number: 1 Registered: Nov-04 | I decided to bite the bullet and get the following: (L&R) Martin Logan Clarity (center) Martin Logan Cinemai (rears) Martin logan Scripti (woofer)Martin Logan Grotto B&K AVR-507 reciever My question is, do i need to go with high end cables, or will heavy duty 16 gauge do? Please take a glance at this article before answering. I've always wondered if the Monsters/ Audioquest cables really do make any difference. Personally i can't hear it, but i've never owned equipment of THIS nature before.... http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volume_10_2/ultralink-CL414-cable-5-2003.html Thanks |

For example: http://www.martinloganowners.com/forum/messages/2977.html While I am one to talk with the Montage and soon to have Mosaic, you are going with the electrostatics. For a lower price, the Montage and Mosaics make sense in that they give you the electrostatic type sound without having to pay much for amplification. However, the Clarity is a bottom entry in the electrostatic and I'm not sure of its place. Its $2500 MSRP is very close to the MSRP of the Aeons and you could also probably find even better used equipment. I just don't get the Clarity as it doesn't sound that much better than the Mosaic and yet is pretty high priced. |

Silver Member Username: JonmoonPost Number: 137 Registered: Dec-03 | Neil, I just wanted to make sure that you had compared. On cable guage, again from Martin Logan forum, I found some threads where cable is discussed and some online recommendations: http://www.martinloganowners.com/forum/messages/594.html http://www.martinloganowners.com/forum/messages/1491.html http://www.martinloganowners.com/forum/messages/1584.html http://www.martinloganowners.com/forum/messages/301.html And from Audio Asylum: http://db.audioasylum.com/cgi/m.mpl?forum=cables&n=439&highlight=martin+logan&r= &session= http://db.audioasylum.com/cgi/m.mpl?forum=cables&n=16741&highlight=martin+logan& r=&session= Unfortunately, there seems to be endless answers. Make sure you follow the threads through. |
