I set up my new Sony Home Theater System. I hear all the effects LOUD and clear and barely hear the dialogue. I'm constantly turning the sound up and down. HELP.
Get a calibration DVD or if you own an Xbox throw in any ESPN 2K5 sports title. They have a good effect in the audio setup where the sound of the crowd circles the room.
Best way to do it is to get an SPL meter and calibrate all the levels, but with an all-in-one system close enough is good enough IMO.
Quick fix is to turn your centre channel all the way up, but it's better to calibrate all your speakers to meet your room size and layout so you get proper spacialization, where sound comes from every direction.
