I'm sure that we are all well versed in these NAD postings by now. I have a question for all T763 owners...

I need a test done (simple one) - if you can help me out, great. I'm noticing some distortion with my receiver (speakers are fine, I've tested them), and it only happens under these contitions:

ANY input selected
Analog mode only (no digital input)
EARS mode selected
In setup menu, selected Input Gain set at 0dB
Volume at WHATEVER you choose

When these conditions are set, I can hear 'clipping' or distortion in mid/hi range during louder vocal passages of music. I've tried different speakers, CD players, DVD players, cables, and still get this problem when the above conditions are set. Switching to a digital input relieves this problem, as does turning down input gain to -6dB or lower.

With the input gain at 0dB, switching from digital to analog inputs produces no change in volume - so I find it hard to believe that I am 'overdriving' the analog input.

I am wondering if anyone else has this problem, or if it's a fault in the unit (see other thread on this unit: https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/home-audio/104168.html ).

As mentioned - I've swapped out all other related gear, done a reset twice, and still have this issue... only in EARS mode. All other modes operate normally.

Have you tried turning on the 'soft clipping' switch?
