OK, I haven't seen this one on any forum. My 57" TV will be on a stand that lifts it mearly 2 feet off the floor, and tilts it slightly forward. The plan is to have my sub UNDER the TV, inside of the stand (which is actually a 3 sided shell). My question; Should I build the 'stand' so that the sub will sit in an artificial corner, or would I be better off having the interior of the 'stand' rounded into a half circle?
See diagram, because I'm sure I didn't explain this correctly!
I am no expert, but in my opinion the curved wall will be better than a corner. In any regard, I think you'll find either of these placements quite boomy - a front firing sub would be better in this instance imho.
I would agree......kill 2 birds with one stone...cut the back of the cabinet out, this will help eliminate the 'boomy' effect and wont matter if its curved or cornered.
