Is those the only two choices Dangodz? What else do these stores carry? They have this stuff for you to audition right?

Dan, stop. just stop.
If you want to make an informed decision on what is advisable to seek out and listen to, then do so.
Keep it in one thread, for simplicity.

In Montreal, you have a zillion choices, and many many good ones.

Do not get boxed in. Do not set a time limt, like say, Christmas.

This is easily done, if you put some time and effort into your search.
Your budget may be served by expanding a bit.

This is NOT a tv, same everywhere, this is the music.
If you are passionate about the music, if you want to make a smart purchase that will last, then look no further than in Quebec.

Classe, Blue Circle, Bryston(close).
Very small packages from these people can yeild very large rewards.

Who did I miss guys?

I'd throw in Raysonic (ownership in Canada, built in China) just to get a well regarded tube option in there. But Classe, BC, Bryston, and Simaudio are all first rate products.

Big leap from a Cambridge AVR to a Bryston processor.

Simaudio 1.1 combo from last year. The new 3.3 is out and highly regarded in text. Quebec is rife with the good audio!

Dan, if this is an investment, then make it so. Quality lasts.
Receivers with bells and whistles and hockey cards in the spokes are fine, but seldom last, and are of random sound quality.

Go and listen.
