I would like to know how inportant to add a power conditioner to my HT system? And I am looking at Panamax and Monster Power (price <$250). What is the best choice? And which brend have a better reputation? Thanks a bunch.

I have auditioned several of these things and I find they help. The big unknown of course is how dirty is the power coming into your house? If it is real bad, they help alot. If you live in a new area with new power lines coming from a recently constructed nearby power plant, it may not be necessary at all.
My experience is that a small one from Monster Power or Panamax, in the price range you are looking is really all that you need. I could not hear any improvement once the power conditioners got above $500 over the $250 units, but I could definitely hear an improvement from a $250 unit over no unit at all.
As for which brand, I don't think it matters. I think both are good brands and should improve your sound.
