Subwoofer - how good it will compare with today's sub

Gan Chorng Jiunn
recently i got an offer for a Mirage BPS150i, it is a bipolar subwoofer which have dual 8 inch driver, i can't find too many information regarding this sub, i just hope there's someone that used this before, well, the price i am paying for this sub is just slightly less than a new Velodyne VX-10 (which is the entry level of the velodyne line of subwoofers), and the Mirage has been used for few years...

what i want to know is, will the Mirage (although an old product) will perform better than the entry level subs nowadays (like JBL PB10,12, Velodyne VX-10, Cambridge Basscube).?.since back then this Mirage is selling at around 700 pounds, and my front speaker is Mission M74, is that ok to match with it.?.

hope you guys can give me some suggestion, thanks

Mirage makes good stuff, but get what you like at the end. If they satisfy your ears and heart, than they are right for you.
