Remote wire?

I have a sony xplod cd player and the spot to plug in the remote wire is differnet than most cd players ive seen. It has a spot on the back of it but it looks like a slot that a pair of headphone of something like that would go in to. The remote wire i have looks like a blue piece of speaker wire. Is there anywhere else i can either hook this remote wire up to or is there a type of remote wire i can buy for this type of plug on my cd player?
