Just logged on . He received it a lil while now this upcoming wk'll make it 3 . Wk b4 last he plced an order for my Inf comps but turns out d 1s i ordered unknowingly were last yr's model & it so happened that d company we ordered them from were out of stock so they told us that info . So again now he had to give them d new order just this Wed gone so i guess it'll b another wk to receive it . Talk about being anxious about getting stuff - i've been planning my new set-up since May & partly due 2 my bro being bz with his work & other stuff too - its all now being organised .
He also has 2 see about organising some PS stuff 2 b sent 2 me too & @ d sme time wants to come down here 4 a visit by this mth's end so i'm thinking he will most likely bring my new deck & comps with him then so again its another mth - Upload

JL thread - not really , i mean we already have so much in common that there @ least must a different view somewhere along d line . I bet ya a 100 bux if your shop carried Jl & say u coulda get a 13w7 @ 1/2 online price that sub would be sitting your trunk long time now & u'd like "er what's an idmax !?"- LOL
I say ur pal BloodyW is on ya case again - that guy just doesn't give up & @ 2am ! very few ppl were on d forum last night u know so that can narrow d list of possible suspects .....Upload

I have a brand new JVC KD-Sx990 that my other bro brought me as gift earlier this yr - not my 1st choice but its a gift thats valued @ us$150 & i also got a P acoustik amp & some other amp lying around too as well as very cheap (but plays very good) Rockwood 2 12s too . if it looks descent enough 2 post some pics then i will .....

Jill - i'd gladly discuss Ps2 games itself with u & everybody but like i said a few wks back ,all that ppl use this section is to WHINE about problems that their ps2 is not reading disc etc .

Days & sometimes a whole wk will pass b4 ANYBODY post anything actually related to Ps apart from console problems .
Its a free domain so MW & I created our own thread 2 discuss matters relating 2 both of us cause we don't want to clog up the forum like some ppl do with threads that are like a yr & a 1/2 old .

Anybody can freely read what we both say here - so its nothing personal like & i doubt very much we are bothering anybody ... Upload

Jill, you need to chill. haha, that rhymed.:-)
that is also the most i have seen you say in one post.:-O

if the admin had a problem with it, they would email us, or simply ban us. *prays not to be banned*

and like Rovin said, this is one of the, if not the slowest forum on the website.

Hey - i just came in the house , i was installing that new deck like i told u i would .
Some photos will b posted later 2night . Started kinda late like 3pm ,actual work did not take long but i had 2 keep runing up/down d stairs 4 stuff .
Looks & sound remarkably better as expected -

Funny story though , throughout d time i was doing d install d key was turned in the ignition so as to stop that annoying "ding, ding" sound your door makes when its open . So after d install i sat there 4 about an hr or more admiring what i'd done & of course blasting it - i decided well thats good enough as i turned d key 2 park my ride , d engine WON"T TURN OVER ! .....apparently da battery drained down - LOL ! Upload
So i had o push it in d garage . I did run d wires & rcas for d amp so maybe 2morrow i'll get 2 that . But i'm thinking a new battery is in d cards cause apparently thats d original battery my car came with - car was made in 2000 & i bought it 2nd hand in Dec 03 so i'm thinking that battery has more than done its duty & i don't wanna b shutting down all over da place & looking 4 a jumpstart ....
See u on d forum a little later 2night ...

this box was built around June or July & is intended 2 hold my 2 Pioneer subs - each chamber has a a vol of 1.88 cu.ft as opposed 2 d 2 separate boxes way above whose vol = 1.65 . This 1.88 is said to b better 4 these subs - have never tested out this box yet but i fully expect it 2 rock since its built strong as a rock - lol

top, bottom, front are carpeted , 2 sides & back are Arborited in black ,currently tuned to 50 i think but i'll redo d port lenghts to rec 37.55hz .
Note how i join my 2 dvc wires - i use electricians connecting strip terminals .

Those fancy designs hanging on d wall r all made of steel by ME ! - just over 5yrs ago i had my own shop doing ironworks like steel gates, windows ,burglar-proofing etc ... got tired or getting strained lifting heavy work so i had 2 retire from it . I'm self thought & loved creating stuff with steel .
2 dogs everytime they see me with a camera they luv 2 pose so i must take 1 pic everytime -lol

last 5 is what i did 2day showing how my dash easily comes apart & new deck in . Did not install d frame around d face cause that'll require some bracket fabricaion & since this is temp , y bother .....

hmmmmm. that will cost a pretty penny to ship, unless he brings it with him when he comes down.

that kid had me pretty p!ssed of.
i was going to post this, but he finally submitted. lol

-------------------------------------------------

also, i know how loud 150db is.
i hear it twice a week, every week.
i won't go into it, nevermind yes i will lol, but i sit in a car that does 152dbs every time i visit my audioshop before i leav, and i assure you, yours does not hit 152 on a TL, maybe on am AC.
this car 2 12's each of which has 4" peak to peak excursion, and it has 1 USA 2000x on each, a total of 4kwRMS of power and they are in a fiberglass enclosure in which the subs are right behind your head, and the ports are above your head.

so your telling me that your 2 Lanzar(low build quality subs) with only 2000wRMS in a box in your trunk hits louder?

i'm sorry but i don't think so.:-O
-------------------------------------------------

looks rather harsh now that i read it a second time. lol

everything seems kosher on that website, except for the 1-year warranty.
the only website that can offer a warranty of ID subs is SoundDomain, they are the only authorized online dealer for ID.

but those prices are the cheapest i have seen.:-)

i used to watch WWF, back in the days, but now i like to watch UFC. now that is some hardcore fighting.:-O

"everything seems kosher" - thats mean they're OK/legit !? if so i may order 2 IDQ 12s from them

very few online sites sell ID subs ,sound domain does not have any in stock - b@stards !

R u getting yours even cheaper than that ?

Ok now u got me really curious - what he giving u it 4 ? & don't worry cause its pretty deadsure this info won't get back 2 him & even it does ,no effect . I'm guessing $250- i'm guessing that u would b able 2 afford it b4 Xmas cause that ain'y much $ .

That WWE is really wacked - haven't seen it in 2yrs since it went on PPV . We all know its scripted but sometime they tend 2 overact like beat up d owners ,this evening Stone Cold did his trademark move on d whole McMahon family father, son, daughter then d mother & apparent u don't get fired or taken 2 court 4 kicking d bosses azzes ...
What i enjoy is d acrobatics/physics of d fights - d pain those guys feel falling 2 d ground etc is real .

BTW - i'm searching d net 4 a good multimeter ,what u think about this 1 ??? http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&vertical=TOOL&pid=0 3481077000&tab=des#tab
i'm thinking about getting 1 from them so as 2 save s/h charges ....

Chauncey B - Welcome to d 1-on-1 forum of MW & Rovin Upload , we talk about our crap here so as not 2 bother others on d forum ......

Well their power tools are not really d greatest sorta like basic Hifonics,Pioneer - works ok to good but a bit not too precise & seem like they cut corners & can b a tad more refined like say Milwaukee/Makita/Dewalt or others like that .

What i should have included 2 ask was - does that model have good features 4 installing car audio stuff & is it a reasonable price ?

DUDE!!!!
while me and steve were hooking up my amp, he asked me what the sub model and VC was, and i told him it was a SVC 4 ohm 2000a sub. he said "No, that's wrong" and i said "yes it's right, b/c it is hooked up to my amp at 4 ohms.

he then said "go get the dmm and well measure it"
so we did and it came out to 8 ohms.
WHICH MEANS IT IS A DVC 4 OHM SUB.
WHICH ALSO MEANS IT CAN'T BE A 2000a sub.

so i was in awe, and i asked him what model of sub is it then? and he said he remebered ordering it and that it is a 3500 series rated to take 500wRMS.

so anyway we had it hooked up to my US amp at 8 ohms in series which meant the sub was getting only 90wRMS!!!!!!!!!!!! and it pounded with 90wRMS!!!!!

so now we are hooking it up to my A6 to give it 870wRMS!!!! hahahahahahaha i'm so excited!!

i can't believe i didn't even know what model of sub i had or how much power it was getting.!!!:-O

WHICH also means i probably won't be getting an IDMAX, b/c i wanted louder, but NOW i will be getting way louder!!!

90wRMS to 870wRMS!!!!!!!
and that sub has Excellent SQ due to contrary belief that DD's are SPL subs, but b/c they have such great build quality ppl use them in comps.

i am so excited!!!!:-O:-O(i know i already said that):-O:-):-O:-):-O:-):-O:-):-O:-):-O:-):-O

just imagine 870wRMS!!!!:-O

How r u gonna explain 2 all d guys that u did not know what ur sub was connected too & apparently u did not know .......hmmmmmmmm thats d main reason 4 d name change !? - lol

no, just a huge mixup.
but i'm tellin ya, you would have never guessed that sub only had 90wRMS going to it.

yes, now it will get its rec power, instead of it only getting so little.

i changed my name b/c i was tired of peeps trying to test my patience with their smart*ss unregistered names trying to mock me.

actually D-Bo said that 8 ohms mono on an amp is the same as 4 ohm stereo as far as output, so he said that if my amp does 75 a channel at 4 ohms, then my DD was getting 150wRMS.

i have everything installed, except for the Alternator. when he ordered the alt, he told the guy that there were mounting brackets at 12 o clock, and 4 o clock, so the guy sent my alt with the cooresponding mounting places on the alt casing.
WELL, he messed up, b/c the mounting brackets are at 12 and 5 o clock, so the alt didn't line up with the brackets.:-(
but he is sending it back, hopefull tomorrow, and i will have a brand new one with the correct casing mounts at 12 and 5 oclock, and then i will have it put on.

i will say even with my stock alt, the sub is easily twice as loud, SERIOUSLY.:-)

BUT, the car STRUGGLES to give the amp its proper power, and everything dims very badly(so no loud listening for me until i get my HO alt back.)

but when i rev the engine a little bit to get the voltage up, IT BECOMES EVEN LOUDER!!!, so i think once i get my alt, i will be "quakin", and i still have(and think it is even better with this A6) Impeccable SQ.:-O:-):-O

i would really like to get an IDMAX, REALLY, but it will not be first priority, but if i happen so save up some cash, then yes, that will be the first thing i buy.:-)

i am really impressed with this DD.
i thought it was extremely loud for a single 10", and so did ALL my friends, and everybody that i demoed the vehicle to while i was at the shop, but now?....it is rediculously loud for 1 10":-O

i just wanna get my alt put in.:-)

haha, half the ppl that read my first few posts with my new name didn't even recognize me. lol

i am really excited about my new setup, but i won't post any pics until i get my alt put in and we fix a few of the wires.(we stayed an hour after the shop closed finishing up on my ride, but we didn't get the wires just how i wanted them to look when i fold down the back seat.

I know d post nos were close but now we've past it by 10 which is pretty good considering d stupid 'my crap's broken thread' just next 2 us is 6mths old & we done ours in roughly 10 days ...hehehe

U know i think u should keep that 10" until @ least until end o next mth - get full use out of it & make ppl's eyes pop when u show em 1 10 !!!

Sorta reminds me of a few yrs back ,but home stereo i'm talking about - i had a 10" BECKER SUB & i built this small say 10x14x20 ported 1.5" hole box outta scrap GROOVE PLY & i powered it on 1 channel of that Pioneer amp i was telling u about & had 4 cheap tweeters on d other channel . Placed it in a corner under a table & when i fired that sucker up everybody thought i honestly had 2 12s ! & man it played loud & clear .......hmmm i think i may have that old box somewhere still ...

yeah, i don't think i'll ever be able to get the thought of getting an IDMAX out of the back of my head. lol we'll see how things go.

i got to hear 2 ID 10's today, all i have to say is: Very loud, and Very Very Very clean and accurate.:-)

I think we should let this thread remain until Sunday cause we don't wanna be messing every so often with a new thread .

We'll give Chaucey d honor of creating a new 1 then - lol

back in d 90's i 1st got 2 hear a pair of 10" Bazookas & man did that leave an impression on me , such loud/crystal clear sound out of 2 small tubes in a Mazda 323 sedan i can still see/hear it in my mind . So strange though these guys on this forum put it on d bad section . Maybe they have gone bad since then !?

Do u guys luv d band Coldplay like i do ??????

I was young too when i heard that bazooka .

from d time i heard d song 'Trouble' followed by 'yellow' - i was hooked ,i downloaded their 1st album immediately . Then when i heard/saw d video for 'clock' then 'the scientist' again dl their 2nd album . Everysingle song on their 2 albums are fabulous & sometimes i just drag both albums into my Musicmatch & let er play loud on this PC .
Surprisingly i haven't go their 3rd album (the live 1) or their latest as yet .

Hoping not 2 do like last night & stay late here - lol .

Josh , MW ,Slim shady or who ever da heck u r now (LOL) - like u were hanging out last night ? cause i did not see u on d forum .....

Got my ride a new battery 2day - it originally came with a 375amp battery but i ended up with a 825amp battery !
Did u know there are 'left/right side' batteries !? some have the + pole on 1 end & vice versa , so the only battery that had the pole on the end that would fit my car without changing the cable location was that big 1 . But hey i'm gonna put a 'lil' music in it so that should be better overall .

i was at Audionutz until 7, and then i went over to my friends house who hasn't seen or heard my new setup, until about 10:30. i posted a few times at his house as well.

last night, i had to work until 9, and then i got home and forgot i had homework, so i had to do that until about 10:30, and i went to bed at 11, b/c i was super tired and had to be at school this morning at 8 am.

their is another thread section on this website that is super slow, i think it is the photo section, and the portables section.

wonder where chauncey is.

oh, and where did you find that pic of all the beer in the middle of the road? i would be so

Found it yesterday , since i was bored i just googled 'funny pics' & saw that - man , now thats what i call a MESS ,pretty dangerous stuff to be handling also .

Reminds me of a few wks ago i had my fav drinking glass on d couch & my foot just kicked it off by mistake & d thing broke into a million tiny pieces & was late in the night too i have to clean it up . Luckily we still have 1 or 2 of those glasses i like left ....

i just put up an old-school US Amps banner in my room.:-)

i wish they would have never been bought out, or i would have gotten one of their amps for my bass amp.

on second thought, D-bo said that they are one of only a few models(of high end brands) that have problems when mounted to boxes, so i guess me and the A6 were destined to be.

i turned on the Sub-Sonic Filter today(which is 25hz) so as not to blow the sub out d box. lol
or a least to help filter out the freq. in which my box is tuned above.

haha, i'm starting to catch on to your "d" for "the". it is way faster than typing "the". lol

How come u r not posting on D forum 2night as usual - doing homework , watching tv ?

In my country we use ALOT of shorted dialect like speaking "WHA" = what & we actually say "D" to = the . I do not post D in D general forum cause when i 1st joined on i used it but it ticked off some ppl who asked if i'm from D Ghetto or weird - lol
U can getaway with typing U = you & sometimes but (don't do it often cause ppl think u are illiterate) 4 = for ,2 = to & R = are .

I had a EXCELLENT English teacher prior to my getting into what u guys called 'junior high school' & this guy pounded EVERY single thing that we needed 2 write PERFECT English & it stuck with me 4 life - so i do know it darn well ,just like 2 choose shortcuts when casually writing 2 u .....

Yea - i'm catching up 2 ya , usually when u score 2 pts i score 1 .lol

There r some guys on just posting basically different variations of d same @#$%! thing they want 2 find out . I saw about 3 or 4 thread asking d same ? question with a twist .

Here's a thought - even though my new MB amp is rated 1000 @ 1ohm .....do u think it would sufficiently push 2 12s SE subs well enough ???

Usually i rec 2 ppl to buy a 1200wrms amp if their subs is rated @ 1000wrms .....

I'm toying with this idea cause my bro wants 2 SE but i could as well order 2 for myself but i do like d 12s IDQ too ! ........

hmmmm.... IF.....i were you........i would get the IDQ's simply b/c your amp won't have to work any harder than it already has to at 1 ohm.
besides that, i don't think you understand how loud 2 12" IDQ's are going to be in your AD Wagon(essentially a hatchback, or an SUV that is lower to the ground). lol

i heard 2 ID 10's in a 4-door chevy truck 2 days ago, and it was slammin!!!!:-O:-O

and we are only talking like 500-800watts RMS. and i know he didn't have even 500w b/c he only had 1 amp in the truck running everything and he was a cheap redneck. lol
you will have the IDQ's, and 1000 watts RMS!!!!:-)

I think we both knew i would b picking 2 IDQs but hearing freaking RE RE RE RE RE RE RE RE RE RE RE RE RE every single day .... i guess it was pounded into my brain - lol . I just needed reassuring - so i made u pick d max & u made me pick d Q ...so we're even ......

Judging from d pics of a 12 IDQ - don't u find they look like pretty normal subs ? i mean nothing extra ordinary 2 talk about .......

My bro has a "Power Craptastik" (d term Glass uses) 2100D rated 2 do 2000wrms @ 1ohm . So i guestimate it does 3/4 of that =1500wrms so thats Y i rec 2 12s SE for him . PA amps r not as bad as Glass said though ,maybe underrated yes but not terrible by any means .

That Hu i installed on Sunday is a few times better than d stock unit & i like it , plays pretty loud without distorting . Hmmmmm - imagine when i get my Inf REFs & that Alpine amp .

they don't look like anything out of d ordinary. hehe

but it doesn't matter how they look, it's how they.........:-)

i'm not sure if it is b/c they haven't revamped them(like calling them IDQ V.3's instead of V.2's) but i don't think you will have any disappointment once you hear them. they will sound great, and any 2 subs with 1000wRMS will get LOUD! lol

i'm here now.
i had to work a 10hour day today. 10-8.:-(
all i think about at work is coming home and getting on Ecoustics. lol
glad to be back from such a long absence.
i finally got my alt on. i will post pics of it and the amp tomorrow.
it is loud as %*^#! and my lights still dim but you would have to be @nal(like me) to notice it, but it does 14.5V at idle, and 14.2 with my system full blast, so no worries.:-O but i need to get an Optima battery(still have the stock one), but my idle doesn't drop, and the car doesn't feel like it is lacking power.

i can run everything full tilt, and have no problems, but before, if i had just the engine on, and i turned up my system, the car would almost stall. lol

Did u know that d 12" IDQ sub is ONLY 350 WRMS !!!!!!!!

I found that out yesterday when i looked @ d pdf files on their website . Now my Pio subs r 400wrms so i don't want to go down but rather up to make max use of my MB amp .
So i'm now seriously considering 2 Alpine 12s type ! 500wrms 4ohm dvc model . Pretty cheap too $117 each which is an added bonus - only damn thing is s/h 4 each sub is $25 .... ouch !

Image Dynamics Website is frustrating me.
none of their RMS ratings match up from the display up top, to the chart on the bottom, to the PDF files.

the ID has more Xmax than the IDQ. but handles less power, and has a lower sensitivity. i'm puzzled.

Hear this opinion from my bro's good friend who is into car audio about 12yrs now , he's migrated to Canada a few yrs now but we keep in contact

i asked him about those 2 Alpine 1242D cause i respect his opinion alot but how strange/varied ppl choices are ! :

" hey rovin,
i checked it out, the alpine subs, they are ok but do u think you will like
that bass? I am not sure. We spoke about the Image Dynamics the other
day...my preference is with the IDMAX12D4 instead of the Apline. I have
heard the IDMAx and it is awsome. you know why are you only thinking of 2
subs? why not do one sub instead, and buy a good sub thet will "get on". I
told you in the last email try the Kicker L7, they are very good and slam,
Kicker selld them in the factory made box and trust me on this one that one
L7 will kill your 2 alpine 12's. I went to a show and this guy with one(1)
Kicker L7 did 151 dB in a honda civic hatchback. So imagine what it will do
in your hatch. It was the L7 in the factory made box. just something to
think about. why don't u check out some prices and get back to me tomorrow.
Oh the 1000watt amp you are getting is just perfect for the IDMAX as well."

i never mentioned IDmax to him but he likes em alot....
