TO NADT763 users, May I know whats the coutnry of manufacture for the T762/763? Is it made in China or in UK? I have read that the 742/752 are made in China and have ltos of problems. Are 762/763 plaggued by the same problems?

Thanks!

NAD started in the early 1980s as UK, was bought by a Danish company called AudioNord, and they sold it to Lenbrook, a Canadian multinational, a few years ago. Both AudioNord and Lenbrook are specialist companies, technically very good, and they know what they have to take care of in order to keep the brand and its reputation. I think NAD is in good hands. Manufacturing is in China, I think, but so is almost all hi-fi, now, including the Japs. That is a plus, because the assembly is very skilled but low cost (for now, but wait till China gets going...)

I spoke to a very knowledgable guy in AudioNord just before Christmas (they still distribute and service NAD in Scandinavia, where they own the retail chain HiFi Klubben). He said some T752s had sofware problems because NAD had out-sourced the software, but they have now taken it back, and there is no problem. This agrees with all the details of receiver problems I have read on this forum. Also, if anyone contacts them with problems, they know just what to do. I have had excellent service from NAD and its reps. The dealers do not always know. NAD will take over if there is a problem.

You could also check out the distributorship for NAD in your area (it will be on the web site) if you are concerned.

Thanks for your reply. In that case, I will go for Marantz 7300. The SR4300 is made in China with Chinese components. I am looking for a receiver that uses Japanese components especially capacitors.
