I am thinking to buy a subwoofer to match my receiver Yamaha RXV2400.
My list are the VELODYNE CHT-12, JMLAB CHORUS SW700, PSB Subsonic 6i and the Yamaha YST-SW1500.
Anybody can give me suggestion for the above sub and which one the better for my Yamaha ? Oh yes, my listening maybe 50%/50% for music and home theatre.
Thanks alot all of you guyss.......

I'd take the Velodyne and PSB in that order. I haven't heard the JMLAB so I can't comment on that. The Yamaha YST is loud but muddy and sounds like the bass is coming from somebody's car and you are not in it...that's the only way I can describe it.

If we compare on the specification, the Yamaha YST has a wider frequency response than the other. Strange too, maybe better we trust our hearing, do we ?
Oh yes, any idea other subwoofer instead my listing to match my receiver Yamaha RXV2400 ?

The Velodyne is a safe choice, but check also SVS and HSU.

Tough choice between SVS and HSU, but nicer over over velodyne. Yes I've seen the specs on the Yamaha sub but I listened first then looked at the specs. You have to realize specs can be tailored to meet expectations.

I would consider the SVS and Velodyne since HSU not available in my local store.
But guys, which is better the front firing or down firing sub ?
The velodyne has the front firing, the SVS has the down firing.

I would pick the SVS hands down, more earth shattering, is how will describe it!

the retail price is around $899.
This is the cheapest price for SVS range, I think.

The PB1 is $599 so you may want to check that out. Should be excellent for your needs.
