New member Username: VukovinPost Number: 1 Registered: 12-2003 | I was given a set of Gekko GK-1114 speakers and a set of GK-1824 speakers. I also have a couple of old Technics SB-2565 speakers. The Gekko's are 4 ohms and the Technics are 8 Ohms. I am a complete novice to designing systems and could use advice and suggestions. I will use the system 50/50 (DVD's and CD's), and I don't care about things like a second zone. I understand these are not the best speakers out there. I just want to add a good receiver to build a basic 6.1 system right now, but I want a receiver that I can use to grow things over time. I've been looking at the HK AVR-230 and the Onkyo SR601. However, from reading other posts I understand that 4 Ohm speakers are a problem. So, I want to add a powerful enough receiver that can handle them. I would rather spend the money now instead of buying something then changing later. I'm open to all suggestion! Thanks!!! |
